Police report driving under influence incidents in Belgium and the Netherlands

Separate incidents of driving under the influence were reported in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, and Den Haag, Netherlands, over the weekend.

In Sint-Niklaas, police conducted a routine check in the Nauwstraat during the early hours of Saturday night. A driver tested positive for alcohol and had their license revoked on the spot for 15 days. Local authorities noted that such checks are part of a broader campaign to improve road safety and deter drunk driving.

In Den Haag, a driver collided with a parked vehicle on Van Alkemadelaan during the night of August 22 to 23. Both vehicles sustained significant damage, though the driver was uninjured. Following alcohol and drug tests, the driver was arrested and taken to a police station for further investigation, including blood tests to determine the exact level of impairment.
