Police report robbery and vehicle theft in Naples region

Police in the Naples region have addressed two separate criminal incidents involving theft and robbery.

In San Felice a Cancello, an 18-year-old man has been reported to authorities following an aggravated robbery that occurred last August. A 75-year-old woman was attacked and struck in the chest while leaving a bar, causing her to fall after a suspect snatched a gold necklace containing her late husband's wedding ring. Investigators from the Maddaloni Police Station used surveillance footage to identify the suspect and a getaway vehicle. The individual was previously known to investigators for a separate fraud case involving an elderly victim.

In Somma Vesuviana, Carabinieri arrested a 33-year-old man and reported a 30-year-old woman following a pursuit involving a stolen truck. After the vehicle was reported stolen the previous evening, officers intercepted the truck during a patrol. The driver attempted to flee, leading to a chase that ended when the vehicle crashed into a wall in via Pomigliano. The man was arrested for resisting a public official and charged with theft, and is currently under house arrest.
