Criminal activity and police responses in Naples

Overview

Authorities in the Naples region have conducted several investigations and arrests following various theft and robbery incidents.

In the San Felice a Cancello area, police identified an 18-year-old suspect involved in an aggravated robbery of a 75-year-old woman. The suspect allegedly struck the victim to steal a gold necklace. In a separate incident in Somma Vesuviana, Carabinieri arrested a 33-year-old man following a pursuit of a stolen truck that ended in a crash.

More recently, in the Vomero district, investigators used surveillance footage to identify and charge a 48-year-old man for a daytime purse snatching on Via Santo Stefano. Carabinieri officers located the suspect at his residence and recovered the clothing and scooter used during the crime.
