Police Rescue Two Motorcyclists from Crocodile in Flooded Las Mojoneras
During a severe rainstorm in the Las Mojoneras delegation, floodwaters inundated streets and trapped two young motorcyclists on Guanajuato Avenue. While attempting to escape, they encountered a large crocodile moving through the water. Fearing an attack, the riders climbed onto the canopy of a parked vehicle and shouted for help.
Municipal police responded quickly, coordinating a rescue operation with a crane platform. Officers carefully maneuvered the crane to reach the motorcyclists without disturbing the reptile, lifted them to safety, and later recovered the partially submerged motorcycle. Both riders escaped unharmed. The crocodile, identified as specimen #149, was later located by residents, secured with the assistance of the Green Patrol and civil protection officials, and removed from the area.
