Chania police seize 103 cannabis plants, arrest 60‑year‑old suspect
On 13 July 2026 police in the Mylopotamos area of Chania, Crete, carried out a coordinated raid that arrested a 60‑year‑old man who was already subject to a warrant for a previous cannabis case. Officers from the Drug Suppression Unit seized 103 hydroponic cannabis plants grown in a greenhouse, each up to 2.5 m tall, along with a tablet, two mobile phones, cultivation tools (saw, chainsaw, sprayer, fan), a precision scale and a passenger vehicle alleged to have been used for drug transport.
The operation follows an earlier June 2026 seizure of 640 cannabis plants in the Kissa municipality of Chania, which led to the arrest of a 46‑year‑old individual. The new suspect will be presented to the prosecutorial authorities, while the investigation continues under the Chania Drug Suppression Unit.
