Police seize cannabis and arrest suspects in Odisha and Kerala operations

Law enforcement agencies in India have conducted significant anti-drug operations targeting cannabis in Odisha and Kerala. In Kerala, Hemambika Nagar Police arrested six individuals from Odisha at the Olavakkode railway station. The group was allegedly transporting 53 kg of ganja by train. Authorities are currently investigating the suspects' potential links to larger drug trafficking networks.

In Odisha, Koraput police conducted a raid on a 10-acre forest area near Disariguda and Lenziguda villages. The operation resulted in the arrest of three farmers caught tending to cannabis plants and the destruction of approximately 12,000 plants. Police also seized farming tools and urea fertilizer from the site. Local officials stated that these actions are part of a zero-tolerance policy against illegal cannabis cultivation and transportation.
