Police seize nearly 2 kg of heroin in Polebnitsa, Bulgaria
Police in the village of Polebnitsa, Sandanski municipality, seized approximately 1,980 grams of heroin during a specialized operation. Criminal investigators from the Sandanski District Police Department searched a residence occupied by a 42-year-old man, discovering four packages of a hard-pressed brown substance on the second floor. Field tests confirmed the substance was heroin.
In addition to the narcotics, authorities found an electronic scale and a sum of money at the scene. The 42-year-old suspect has been detained for up to 24 hours. Pre-trial proceedings have been initiated under Article 354a, Paragraph 1 of the Penal Code, with the investigation overseen by the Blagoevgrad District Prosecutor's Office.
Reports indicate the suspect, identified as Krum Nikolov, also known as ‘Aypela’, has a criminal record. In April, the state confiscated assets exceeding 116,000 euros from him, including two apartments in Sandanski, four vehicles, and various cash deposits, following a court ruling that the property was acquired through criminal activity.
