Polimill conducts generative AI training for Japanese municipalities
Polimill Co., Ltd. has conducted introductory training sessions for municipal employees in Uji City, Kyoto Prefecture, and Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture, focusing on the use of its generative AI platform, ‘QommonsAI’.
In Uji City, the training aimed to facilitate the city-wide rollout of the AI tool. Participants engaged in exercises such as drafting greeting messages, experimenting with prompts to understand how different inputs affect results, and exploring Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) features. Some departments expressed interest in future image generation capabilities.
In Miyama City, the training emphasized practical applications such as creating citizen surveys and generating meeting minutes from audio. Participants noted that the AI's ability to prompt users for information made tasks like survey creation more efficient than traditional methods.
As of July 2026, QommonsAI is utilized by approximately 1,000 local governments and 500,000 users across Japan to support tasks including policy planning, council responses, and public relations.
