Poličnik, Croatia Traffic Collision Leaves Three Seriously Injured

On July 5 at 14:25, a multi‑vehicle crash occurred on the state road DC‑08 near Poličnik, Croatia. A 34‑year‑old Croatian driver of a Zagreb‑registered car, with an unbelted 33‑year‑old female passenger and a child in a car seat, failed to adjust speed to road conditions and entered the on‑coming lane, colliding with a vehicle from Osijek driven by a 42‑year‑old man. The Osijek car carried a 36‑year‑old Ukrainian passenger. The out‑of‑control Zagreb car then struck a third Zagreb‑registered vehicle stopped on the shoulder, before the Osijek car was thrown onto a concrete wall.

Emergency services transported the three adult victims – the 33‑year‑old passenger, the 42‑year‑old driver and the 36‑year‑old Ukrainian passenger – to Zadar General Hospital, where examinations confirmed severe bodily injuries. The child survived unharmed. Police conducted on‑scene investigations and have referred the case to the state prosecutor’s office for further criminal inquiry.
