Poste Italiane completes post‑office renovations under 'Polis' program

Poste Italiane has reopened several small‑town post offices after extensive renovations carried out under its "Polis" modernization programme. In Ovada, Roccaraso, Alassio, Montalto di Castro and other locations the facilities now feature ergonomic workstations, low‑energy lighting, tactile pathways for the visually impaired and lowered service counters. The upgrades enable the offices to issue passports, civil‑status certificates and a range of INPS services directly at the counter, reducing the need to visit municipal offices or the Questura.

The company also rolled out a fleet of eight next‑generation ATM Postamat units in the province of Reggio Calabria, equipped with high‑brightness digital displays, anti‑skimming technology and barcode readers for QR‑code bill payments. These machines operate 24‑hours a day and support cash withdrawals, balance enquiries, mobile top‑ups and payment of utility bills.

In Montesarchio the temporary closure of the post office for renovation prompted the mayor to request a mobile service unit to mitigate disruption for residents, especially the elderly and those without private transport. All reopened offices maintain standard opening hours and many will soon host "Spazi per l’Italia" coworking hubs, further expanding community services.
