Polish army distributes mobilization cards to reservists

The Polish Armed Forces have begun issuing mobilization cards to individuals listed in the mobilization roster. The cards indicate the specific military unit, position, and deployment site that would be assigned in the event of a mobilization or war. Three colour codes are used: red for reserve soldiers required for active service, green for those called up by decree, and blue for defence ministry employees and other qualified civilians such as medical, logistics, IT and communications specialists. Holders must report for duty when summoned, with failure punishable by at least three years’ imprisonment.

The Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA) is also assessing the impact on volunteer fire brigades (OSP). In a possible general mobilization, some volunteer firefighters could be transferred to the armed forces, reducing local rescue capacity. The ministry is working with the State Fire Service to develop guidelines and to allow municipalities to request that firefighters remain in civil defence roles. Exemptions apply to firefighters over 50 and to those granted a civil‑defence mobilization assignment by the regional governor.
