Polish authorities seize illegal e-cigarettes in Mazowieckie raid

Polish authorities from the Warmian-Masurian Customs and Tax Office and the Olsztyn Provincial Police conducted a joint operation in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship to combat illegal excise goods. On September 25, officials raided warehouses and seized approximately 8,500 e-cigarettes containing over 196,000 ml of liquid. The products lacked the required Polish excise markings.

One individual, a 32-year-old Indian citizen, was detained while attempting to move goods into a vehicle. The suspect faces criminal charges related to fiscal crimes, which carry a potential prison sentence of up to three years. Authorities estimate that the loss to the state budget from unpaid excise taxes would have exceeded 902,000 PLN if the goods had reached the market.
