Polish Border Guard warns travelers to check luggage after prohibited items found

The Polish Border Guard has reminded passengers to thoroughly inspect the contents of their luggage before flying, citing recent incidents involving items that raised security concerns. In one case, a 22‑year‑old Ukrainian man travelling to Alicante had a training grenade in his bag, which was seized and led to his detention while the device was neutralised. In another case, a 43‑year‑old Ukrainian woman bound for Barcelona was found with an object resembling a stun gun; she admitted ownership, received a fine of 200 zł and was allowed to continue her journey after the item was disposed of. The officials warned that similar prohibited objects can trigger additional security checks, possible legal action and travel delays.
