Polish chemical group Azoty faces labor dispute over 1,500 zł pay rise

Three unions representing workers at Grupa Azoty have issued a collective demand for a net wage increase of 1,500 zł per month, along with the reinstatement of suspended bonuses and a raise in seniority allowances. The unions, including Solidarność, have also called for greater transparency on the company’s finances and involvement in organisational changes. In response, the company noted that total payroll costs in 2025 already reached 1.9 billion zł, representing 13.7 % of its operating expenses, and that fulfilling the demands could raise monthly wage expenses by over 20 million zł. The dispute has led to the declaration of “strike emergency” at several Azoty sites, and union leaders warned that employee morale has sharply declined, calling recent management visits “PR‑stunts”.
