Polish Childcare Institutions Mark 80-Year Milestones

The Szkolne Schronisko Młodzieżowe (School Youth Shelter) in Sidzinia is celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 1946 as a State Children’s Home and later operating under several names, the facility has continuously provided educational and recreational services for children and teenagers in the region, now overseen by Powiat Suski and the Małopolska Education Curator.

The Przedszkole Miejskie (Municipal Kindergarten) in Mieroszów also marks eight decades of service in 2026. Since its establishment, the kindergarten has hosted a range of cultural, ecological and charitable activities, underwent a major renovation in 2009‑2010, and participates in community projects such as recitation contests and international children's Spartakiads. Both institutions highlight the longstanding tradition of child‑focused education and community involvement in Poland.
