Polish Cities Advance Local Revitalisation Projects

In Konin, a civic association organised a public walking tour of Dworcowa Street, presenting a citizen‑budget proposal to transform the thoroughfare into a modern pedestrian zone with new seating, lighting, greenery and parking improvements. The event on 12 July aimed to familiarise residents with the project before voting in the city’s budget referendum scheduled for September.

Separately, the University of Szczecin and the municipal authorities of Świnoujście signed a letter of intent on 3 July to deepen cooperation on social, educational and cultural initiatives. The agreement will enable joint research, conferences, training and data‑driven analyses to support the city’s development, infrastructure planning and community resilience, according to university rector Waldemar Tarczyński.
