Polish Cities Congress Tackles Urban Health and Well‑Being in Łódź

The VI International Congress on Urban Regeneration – Health Regeneration of Cities will take place on 5‑6 May at EC1 Łódź – City of Culture. Organized as part of the Regeneration of Cities initiative, the two‑day event brings together Polish and foreign experts to discuss how urban environments influence residents' health. Topics include the impact of urban planning and architecture, air‑quality management, blue‑green infrastructure, data and new technologies for public health, physical activity promotion, and mental‑health considerations in city spaces. Speakers feature representatives from the OECD, UN‑Habitat, the Circular Economy Forum Austria, the European Council of Spatial Planners, and leading Polish academic and municipal institutions. The programme culminates with an Oxford‑style debate titled “Cities Extend Life”, as well as cultural and scientific side events such as performances by the Łódź Music Academy, a Science Hub poster session on urban microbiomes and climate, and exhibitions by architecture students. Participants will also have access to health‑screening stations, including a mammography and dental bus, and can obtain information on preventive care and the European Health Insurance Card.
