Polish cities expand housing options with new Warsaw apartments and Kraków municipal purchases

In Warsaw’s Praga Północ district, developers are completing modern residential complexes that emphasize security systems, green courtyards, underground parking and flexible floor plans ranging from 25 to 40 m² for singles and couples. Prospective buyers are advised to assess developers’ track records, finishing standards and investment potential as the area undergoes rapid transformation.

The Kraków city council has earmarked nearly 10 million złoty to buy brand‑new apartments on the primary market. Offers from developers and owners are accepted until 15 July, with a preference for ready‑to‑live units but also for unfinished flats. Purchased units will be transferred to the municipality by 14 October and may be funded partially by the Bank of Poland’s subsidy programme, which can cover up to half the purchase price. The move aims to boost the city’s stock of municipal housing for its 816 000 residents.

Both initiatives reflect a broader Polish push to increase housing supply, improve living standards and address affordability challenges in major urban centres.
