Polish cities Gniezno and Włocławek set record rents in municipal renovation‑rental programs

The city of Gniezno concluded its 16th tender for the municipal renovation‑rental housing programme, leasing a total of 48 apartments to over 100 households. A record rent of 46 PLN per square metre was achieved for a flat on Budowlanych Street, surpassing previous offers.

In Włocławek, the municipality opened applications for similar flats slated for renovation, with the deadline of 25 June 2026. Eligibility requires residence in the city, meeting income thresholds based on a percentage of the national average salary, and compliance with local council regulations. Both programmes aim to activate long‑vacant municipal units, provide affordable housing for low‑income families and young households, and reduce the number of empty apartments in the cities.
