Poland rolls out extensive road upgrades and transport improvements
Local authorities across Poland have completed or begun a series of road modernisation projects. In the Przeworsk County, the Mirocin‑Rozbórz‑Ożańsk stretch was rebuilt at a cost of over 1.1 million zł by STRABAG, improving surface quality and safety. Similar works are under way in Żukowo, where the 3 May Street is being rebuilt, and in Podleszany, where a 1.7‑km section will be upgraded and a historic stone cross highlighted.
Urban transport routes are also being adjusted. Kraków has altered the course of bus line 198 on Kantorowicka Street while Łódź is finalising the reconstruction of the Rolnicza connector after a two‑month delay. In Warsaw, the Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad (GDDKiA) is analysing four variants for the western segment of the Warsaw Agglomeration Bypass, a multi‑billion‑zł project intended to divert transit traffic.
Railway infrastructure is receiving attention as PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe modernises stations and engineering works on line 104, and PKS Słupsk has introduced six electric IVECO Crossway buses funded by the National Recovery Plan to serve regional routes. Together, these initiatives reflect a broad push to upgrade Poland’s transport network, enhance safety, and support regional mobility.
