Polish cities offer discounted public transit for students and groups

Public transportation authorities in Łódź and Warsaw are offering specialized ticket options to reduce travel costs for students and groups.

In Łódź, the ‘Bilet Junior’ provides primary school students with highly affordable transit options. A 30-day pass costs 15 PLN, while an annual pass is 144 PLN. For travel within zones 1 and 2, monthly and annual rates are 22 PLN and 216 PLN, respectively. To utilize these discounts, passengers must present valid identification, such as a school ID, and possess an active ‘Karta Łodzianina’.

In Warsaw, a group weekend ticket allows up to five people to travel unlimitedly on buses, trams, and the metro from Friday at 7:00 PM until Monday at 8:00 AM. The ticket costs a flat rate of 40 PLN for the entire group, which reduces the cost to 8 PLN per person when traveling in a group of five. This option covers both ticket zones and includes day and night lines, as well as ‘Parkuj i Jedź’ parking facilities.
