Polish cities prepare major holiday lighting installations

Polish cities are preparing significant holiday lighting installations for the upcoming seasons. In Warsaw, the Municipal Roads Authority (ZDM) has signed a contract worth nearly 46.8 million PLN with Multidekor. This agreement, which extends through 2029, will introduce over 900 decorative elements and approximately 2.9 million energy-efficient LED points. The new theme focuses on Warsaw legends and historical figures, including the Basilisk, the Golden Duck, Maria Skłodowska-Curie, and Fryderyk Chopin. The installations will include interactive elements and smart controllers to reduce energy consumption during low-traffic hours.

In Tychy, preparations are underway for the 2026/2027 holiday season. The city's plan includes renting new decorations and reassembling existing ones, featuring large Christmas trees at the Market Square and Baczyńskiego Square. The Baczyńskiego Square installation will include a specialized pulpit with a button, allowing the Mayor of Tychy to officially activate the lights during a ceremony. The decorations, which include carousels, reindeer, and light photo points, are scheduled for installation in late November, with the official lighting ceremony planned for early December.
