Polish cities roll out major tram and road works in August

Krakow will keep bus replacement services to Bronowice permanently after a review of the temporary tram‑track works, citing cost and technical constraints. The city also announced extensive tram route changes for the first of four August weekends, shortening line 1, rerouting lines 3, 8 and 16, and launching a temporary shuttle line 93.

In Łódź, the Stare Złotno street will undergo a full reconstruction starting in August, including new asphalt, sidewalk repairs and extensions to nearby streets. The project is part of a broader programme of upgrades across the district.

Gdańsk’s Hucisko junction enters its third and final traffic‑management phase on 1 August, with lane reductions, pedestrian‑crossing closures and altered bus routes lasting until 15 August.

Olsztyn’s Powstańców Węgierskich viaduct entered a major renovation stage on 31 July, limiting the structure to a single lane per direction and extending the works for about four months.

Bydgoszcz completed resurfacing and bike‑path upgrades at the J. Sułkowskiego–Kamienna intersection, restoring normal bus service on 3 August and finishing the 15.7 million‑złoty project.

Kielce finished renovations on Malików and Batalionów Chłopskich streets, installing new pavement, curbs and speed‑reduction devices as part of the “Kielce without holes” programme.

Warsaw’s Solidarności and Jana Pawła II avenues began the second stage of tram‑track reconstruction on 3 August, reopening several tram lines while keeping key road sections closed to vehicles.
