Polish Communities Launch New Development and Urban Planning Strategies
The village of Podleszany in the Mielec district approved a comprehensive development strategy for 2026‑2031. The plan calls for modernising schools and kindergartens, adding elevators and emergency shelters, renovating community centres with sanitary and catering facilities, and improving sports and recreational areas. It also includes cultural programmes, a local bulletin and a Cistercian Integration Centre, and seeks external funding to support the projects.
In Gdańsk, the "New South" masterplan has entered its second phase of public consultation. Officials presented draft layouts for the 164‑hectare area surrounding the planned Pomorska Metropolitan Railway line, outlining new residential districts, green spaces, public amenities, service centres and pedestrian and cycling connections. Consultations will be held on 15 June at Primary School No. 19 and on 22 June at Primary School No. 86, inviting residents and interested parties to comment on the proposals.
