Polish companies eye growth in dual-use technology market

A report by Ayming titled ‘Dual-use. Business in the security ecosystem’ reveals that 70% of Polish companies view dual-use technologies—those with both civilian and military applications—as a significant area for development over the next three to five years. Approximately half of these firms are already active in this sector or see its potential.

Łukasz Czajkowski, Director General of the Polish Dual Use Chamber, noted that these technologies are acting as an impulse for the civilian economy. He emphasized that if funds allocated for next-generation defense in Poland and Europe are effectively directed toward Polish industrial, technological, and service companies, it will provide a powerful developmental boost to the economy.

According to NATO estimates, Poland is significantly increasing its defense spending. In 2025, expenditures are projected to rise to 166.2 billion PLN (4.3% of GDP), up from 137.2 billion PLN in 2024. For 2026, spending is planned to reach nearly 194 billion PLN, representing 4.68% of GDP. While Polish businesses are considered organizationally mature and ready to compete, experts warn that administrative barriers may pose challenges.
