Polish counties secure funding for civil defense and emergency response

Local governments in Poland are utilizing funds from the Population Protection and Civil Defense Program to enhance regional safety and emergency response capabilities.

Płock County has secured nearly one million PLN to strengthen its security systems. Key projects include the creation of a second Population Protection and Civil Defense warehouse in Gąbin, specifically intended to serve areas on the left bank of the Vistula River that are vulnerable to flooding. Additionally, funds will be used to purchase a high-capacity mobile power generator to ensure electricity supply for the Płock County Starosty during crises.

In Białogard County, authorities signed agreements with the West Pomeranian Voivode for funding totaling approximately 250,144 PLN for 2026. The program aims to protect residents against natural disasters, terrorist threats, and military actions. Objectives include maintaining civil defense infrastructure, ensuring humanitarian aid capacity, and increasing the professional competencies of civil defense personnel.
