Polish customs seize 70 illegal parcels in Łódź region, uncover marijuana, hashish and illicit tobacco

Polish Customs and Tax Administration (Krajowa Administracja Skarbowa, KAS) carried out large‑scale inspections of courier sorting centres in Łódź and the surrounding voivodeship. Officers seized close to 70 parcels containing illegal goods.

One package, sent from Denmark, held 529 g of marijuana and more than 1 035 g of hashish, worth an estimated 80 000 zł. The remaining parcels contained 17 kg of tobacco, 400 regular cigarettes, 101 e‑cigarettes, 4 633 ml of e‑liquid, 694 tablets and ampoules of steroids (total 438 ml), and cash totaling roughly 23 000 zł.

Detection was assisted by three KAS service dogs – Ares, Prada and Furia. All seized items were placed in a KAS deposit warehouse, and investigators from the Łódź Customs and Tax Office are working to identify the owners and senders. Under Polish law, the import, export, transport, intra‑EU acquisition or supply of narcotics, psychotropic substances, new psycho‑active substances or illicit tobacco is punishable by fines and up to five years imprisonment.
