Poland drug seizure operations

In mid‑July 2026 Polish police uncovered a large illegal cannabis cultivation site in the Lublin region, seizing over 1,200 plants and more than 9 kg of marijuana from two misdelivered parcels. The operation led to the detention of a local grower and the arrest of a Belarusian citizen linked to intra‑EU drug trafficking.

A week later, Polish customs intensified inspections at courier sorting centres in the Łódź voivodeship, confiscating close to 70 parcels containing a mix of narcotics and contraband. The seizure included over half a kilogram of marijuana, more than a kilogram of hashish, extensive illicit tobacco supplies, e‑cigarette liquids, steroids and cash. Detection was aided by customs service dogs. Together, the incidents illustrate an expanding coordinated effort by Polish law‑enforcement agencies to disrupt drug and illegal goods trafficking across the country, broadening from isolated cultivation busts to large‑scale customs interceptions involving multiple substance types.

These actions underscore heightened enforcement scrutiny of both domestic production and cross‑border shipments, with authorities employing police, customs, and canine units to identify and seize illegal narcotics and related contraband.
