Polish Defence Minister Kosiniak‑Kamysz Warns of Russian Threat and Calls for Unity

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz said that war can be avoided only if Poland remains strong and united in fundamental matters. He warned that Russia is escalating its aggression and emphasized the need to resist hybrid warfare and false eastern propaganda.

Kosiniak‑Kamysz highlighted Poland’s record defence budget, the SAFE procurement programme, modernisation of the army and investments in the domestic arms industry, stressing the importance of Poland’s role in NATO, trans‑Atlantic ties and EU support. He also reiterated Poland’s assistance to Ukraine and the need to apply lessons from that conflict to Poland’s security architecture.

The remarks were made during the commemorations at the Warsaw monument to the Peasant Battalions and the Women’s Union on the Day of the Polish Village, invoking World‑War‑II history as a reminder of the importance of national cohesion.
