Polish dioceses launch large‑scale walking pilgrimages to Jasna Góra

Two Polish dioceses are organizing multi‑day walking pilgrimages to the Jasna Góra sanctuary in Częstochowa. The Kielecka pilgrimage covers routes of about 250 km, lasting eight to nine days with daily walks of 18–40 km. Registrations are open online and on‑site, and the first groups from Sandomierz and Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski depart on 4 August, aiming to arrive at Jasna Góra on 12 August. Coordinator Fr. Krystian Kusztyb emphasized the inclusive nature of the journey, noting participation from seniors, families with young children, and first‑time pilgrims. The pilgrimage’s 2026 slogan is “Maryja, Matka miłosierdzia”.

The Zamość Diocese announced a 44th walking pilgrimage under the theme “Pielgrzymi‑Misjonarze”. Registration points are set for 30–31 July at the Zamość cathedral and on 1 August, with the option to sign up on the trail. The event is part of broader parish activities, including a candle‑lit station of the cross and a blessing of vehicles for mission work. Both pilgrimages aim to provide spiritual renewal and collective support for participants.
