Polish drivers cautioned on roundabout fraud schemes and parallel‑parking techniques

Road‑safety experts warn that some drivers exploit the rules for changing lanes on multi‑lane roundabouts to create false liability claims. When moving from one lane to another on a roundabout, a vehicle must yield to traffic already occupying the target lane. Fraudsters deliberately ignore this rule, causing collisions and then attempting to claim compensation by arguing that the exiting vehicle had the right of way. The advice emphasises that if a safe lane change is not possible, drivers should continue circulating the roundabout and try again on the next pass.

Separate guidance explains how to perform parallel parking without stress. Drivers should ensure the parking gap is at least 1.5 times the vehicle’s length, maintain a 30‑40 cm margin front and rear, signal, and reverse while turning the wheel when the rear of the car aligns with the front bumper of the car ahead. Keeping an eye on pedestrians and cyclists throughout the maneuver is also recommended.
