Polish entrepreneurs invest 500 million PLN in SMR nuclear project
A group of prominent Polish entrepreneurs is investing 500 million PLN (approximately 114 million EUR) into Synthos Green Energy (SGE) to support the development of Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). The investment aims to fund the BWRX-300 technology, a 300-megawatt modular reactor developed by GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy.
Key investors include Rafał Brzoska, founder of InPost, and Mati Staniszewski, CEO of ElevenLabs, alongside Michał Sołowow, who is leading the project. Other participants include Dariusz Gałęzewski (Oshee), Krzysztof Pawiński (Maspex), Michał Brański (Wirtualna Polska), and Michał Wypychewicz (ZPUE). The group stated that private capital is being deployed to address Poland's need for stable, predictable, and competitive energy to support advanced industries, data centers, and AI.
This domestic investment complements approximately 1.35 billion PLN in capital from foreign investors. Additionally, the Polish government's 2027 budget draft includes 8 billion PLN to recapitalize the construction of the country's first large-scale nuclear power plant.
