Polish Episcopal Conference announces 26th Pope John Paul II Day

The Polish Episcopal Conference has released a pastoral letter announcing the nationwide observance of the 26th Pope John Paul II Day, scheduled for October 11, 2026. The celebrations will take place across Poland and within Polish diaspora communities.

The theme for this year is ‘St. John Paul II – Disciple-Missionary’. The bishops noted that the concept of being a ‘disciple-missionary’ draws from the teachings of Pope Francis while remaining rooted in St. John Paul II’s document, Christifideles Laici, regarding the vocation and mission of the laity. The letter emphasizes the importance of personal spiritual experiences and calls on the faithful to act as disciples of Christ in their daily lives, work, and family relationships.
