Poland’s Road Closures, Bus Reroutes and EU‑Funded Migrant Integration Projects
FlixBus reports strong demand for short "city‑break" trips among Polish travelers, highlighting over 550 destinations and popular southern‑European locations such as Italy, Spain, Turkey, Greece and Egypt. Travelers favor direct, fast and inexpensive connections, often using night services and bike‑friendly buses.
In the Pomeranian region, twelve agreements were signed to channel European Union funds into migrant integration, social activation and urban revitalisation. Projects will receive nearly 26 million zł for Gdańsk, with additional allocations for Gdynia, Ustka and Redzikowo, supporting language training, vocational courses and community activities for Ukrainian newcomers and other vulnerable groups.
The expressway S1 between the Laliki and Rajcza junctions will be fully closed from 20 July to 3 August for tunnel renovation, forcing car traffic onto the former national road 69. Authorities have prepared detours for heavy trucks via the S52 route and for lighter vehicles on the older road.
Gdańsk’s municipal transport announced an emergency change for bus lines 176 and 213, rerouting them around works on Wielkopolska Street and temporarily suspending service at two stops.
A landslide near Lake Żywiec has led to the closure of county road 1406 S (Beskidka) in Zarzecze from 22 July, with detours via voivodeship roads 948, 946 and 945 expected to remain in place through November.
Bydgoszcz will remodel the Nakielska/Słoneczna tram stop starting 23 July, adding bus services (lines 56, 62, 90) and installing new paving, barriers and accessibility markings. The work is projected to last about a month and will affect both passengers and drivers.
