Polish Fatima Processions Celebrate 30th Anniversary and 2026 Event
On 13 July 2026 a third Fatima procession took place in Żegocina, Poland, following a Mass celebrated by priests Bogusław Pasierb, Piotr Kłoska and Tomasz Majchrzak. The procession was led by priest Piotr, with the Rosary recited by members of the Saint Francis of Assisi Rosary Brotherhood and the statue carried by firefighters and lay volunteers. The event was held under clear weather and was marked by the recent death of resident priest Jan Wąchała.
On 15 July 1996, the 30th anniversary of the visitation of the Fatima statue in Wieruszów was observed with a solemn procession. Over 1,000 faithful from several deaneries marched to the field altar of the Holy Spirit Church, joined by Bishop Stanisław Napierała, mayor Czesław Wróblewski and other local clergy. The celebration included multiple liturgical services, candlelit evening processions through the town, and a night vigil that continued until a midnight Mass. Organisers highlighted the event as a public affirmation of faith and gratitude for political and religious freedoms in Poland.
