Polish fire services extinguish night‑time industrial blazes in Sowy and Lublin

Firefighters from the State Fire Service of Poland responded to two separate night‑time industrial fires on July 28‑29. In the village of Sowy (gmina Pakosław, Rawicz County), a production hall filled with dense smoke and flames was tackled with drones, thermal cameras and specialist breathing‑air equipment. All workers evacuated safely and no injuries were reported. The operation lasted more than four hours, ending in the early hours of July 29.

In Lublin, a fire ignited on an e‑waste storage site on Metalurgiczna Street. Heavy equipment, including high‑capacity water cannons, was deployed to control the blaze on the electronic waste pile. Twenty‑two firefighters from six units worked for over four hours until the fire was fully extinguished. No casualties occurred, and police are investigating the cause.

Both incidents highlight the challenges of fighting fires in industrial settings with hazardous materials, and the coordinated use of advanced firefighting technology by Polish authorities.
