Poland Ends Fuel Price Caps and Launches Heat‑Subsidy Program

The Ministry of Energy issued its final notice on June 30, setting the last maximum retail prices for gasoline 95 (6.00 zł/l), gasoline 98 (6.68 zł/l) and diesel (6.19 zł/l). From 1 July the temporary “Ceny Paliwa Niżej” (CPN) scheme ends, the reduced 8 % VAT on fuels returns to the standard 23 %, and analysts expect retail prices to rise by roughly 0.4–0.6 zł per litre.

At the same time, the government opened a new “bon ciepłowniczy” (district‑heating bonus) for households using central heating. Applications are accepted from 1 July to 31 August. Eligible families – those with net 2025 income below 3 272.69 zł (single‑person) or 2 454.52 zł per person (multi‑person) – can receive a one‑time grant of 1 000 zł, 2 000 zł or 3 500 zł depending on the local heat tariff. Proof of connection to a municipal heating network and income documentation are required.
