Polish football venues upgrade pitches and heating systems at Arena Katowice and Warta Poznań

Arena Katowice will replace its vegetative layer and install a new turf surface as part of a modernization effort. The work, carried out by the stadium’s contractor NDI S.A. under a five‑year guarantee, begins on 25 June and is slated to finish by 15 July. The replacement aims to improve root development, drainage and durability after oversized aggregate was found in the existing layer.

At Warta Poznań’s stadium, a new pitch is being laid and a modern heating system installed. Earthworks started a week ago, removing the old turf and an unused 2012 heating system. The project adds upgraded irrigation, heating, a thermal node, water‑pipe refurbishment, new reserve benches, camera‑pole supports and retention tanks. The work is funded by the city and should be largely completed by mid‑August, after which the club will meet league licensing requirements and increase stadium capacity.

Both upgrades are intended to meet higher standards for hosting national‑level matches and to enhance player safety and spectator experience.
