Entities: Ruben Vinagre · Maciej Rybus · Pelikan Łowicz · Legia Warsaw · Stomil Olsztyn

Overview

Early May the Polish FA prepared a vote on a foreign‑player quota for Ekstraklasa matchday squads, while the Ministry of Sport examined a major expansion of the PGE Narodowy stadium for possible Olympic use. On 5 May Wisła Kraków secured promotion to the top division and began planning a celebration, and I Liga side Wieczysta Kraków hinted at a possible league withdrawal. A fan‑ban dispute on 26 May saw Śląsk Wrocław fined one million złoty for denying Wisła supporters entry; Cracovia pledged to admit those fans for upcoming derbies. Promotion playoffs announced on 29 May will decide the debutant club for 2026/27, with a final between Wieczysta Kraków and Chrobry Głogów. The PZPN licensing commission issued Ekstraklasa and UEFA licences on 2 June, granting approvals with infrastructural and financial oversight and imposing fines for breaches. On 3 June Wieczysta Kraków clinched promotion after a 2‑1 playoff win and began negotiating use of the Reymont Street arena; lower‑league side Start Rymanów staged a dramatic 4‑3 comeback. The Ekstraklasa round on 2 August saw Legia Warsaw defeat Zagłębie Lubin 3‑1, moving level on points at the top, while Betclic 3 Liga and IV Liga campaigns kicked off. On 11 June the league released the full 2026‑27 calendar, confirming a 24 July start with Legia Warsaw opening away at Pogoń Szczecin. The same week Wieczysta Kraków announced the departure of nine players as it reshapes its squad for top‑flight debut. A 13 June schedule note listed defending champions Lech Poznań as bookmakers’ favourite, and Widzew Łódź began its campaign on 24 July against Motor Lublin.
