Polish governing coalition secures majority in latest poll

A recent opinion poll indicates a shift in the Polish political landscape, showing the governing coalition led by Donald Tusk securing a majority for the first time in two years. Notably, this majority is driven primarily by the Civic Coalition (KO) and the Left, suggesting a concentration of support within these two groups a year ahead of upcoming elections.

Conversely, the right-wing opposition is experiencing a downward trend in support. Analysts attribute this decline to several factors, including internal conflicts within the Konfederacja party between leaders Krzysztof Bosak and Sławomir Mentzen, a lack of coherent economic proposals from Law and Justice (PiS) and Mateusz Morawiecki’s faction, and the impact of the Zondacrypto scandal. The reports also highlight perceived inconsistencies in the right-wing's stance regarding Germany and the AfD, as well as a perceived inability to appeal to non-ideological voters.
