Polish economic trends: Benefit Systems profits and ZUS health data

In the first half of 2026, several Polish economic sectors showed distinct trends. Benefit Systems reported record results, with net profit rising to 222.2 million PLN and revenues reaching 1,459.71 million PLN in the second quarter.

Regarding labor and health, ZUS data indicates that while the number of sick leave certificates fell by 2.7% year-over-year to 14.1 million, the total duration of absence remained stable at 147.7 million days. This suggests that while employees are getting sick less frequently, their periods of illness are lasting longer, particularly due to musculoskeletal disorders and mental health issues.

In the real estate sector, commercial property transactions in Poland exceeded 1 billion EUR in the first six months of 2026, surpassing the total for all of 2025. Investment patterns are shifting toward mature shopping centers and sale & leaseback transactions, moving away from the previous dominance of retail parks.
