Polish industry conferences focus on water sector resilience and wind energy expansion

The XXXII WOD‑KAN trade fair in Bydgoszcz gathered water‑utilities operators, government officials, scientists and representatives from Germany, the Netherlands, Czechia, Denmark, Romania, Moldova, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Discussions covered climate‑adaptation financing, with the vice‑president of the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management noting over €2 billion allocated for climate‑related projects, and cyber‑security of critical water infrastructure, featuring experts from the Ministry of Digitisation and NASK. The fair also presented new technologies, awarding Grand Prix prizes to companies such as Sezam‑Instal (drone diagnostics) and CBC Poland (integrated safety‑management system).

In Świnoujście, the PSEW conference highlighted wind power as a pillar of Poland’s energy security. Vice‑premier and Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak‑Kamysz and other senior ministers advocated easing air‑space restrictions to accelerate wind‑farm construction. Industry leaders announced forthcoming changes to air‑space zones and stressed the need for concrete decisions to support investment. The event linked renewable energy development to national defence, economic growth, and combating disinformation, with the ministries of Climate, Energy and State Assets emphasizing local‑content initiatives and job creation.

Both events underscored Poland’s strategy to strengthen critical infrastructure, boost sustainable technologies and enhance resilience amid climate and security challenges.
