Polish Integrated Rail Network Aims to Cut Krakow Travel Times to Major Cities

Poland’s Integrated Rail Network (ZSK) project plans to build roughly 4,700 km of new lines and upgrade existing tracks to dramatically shorten journey times from Krakow. Targets include a roughly 100‑minute trip to Wrocław and about three hours to Gdańsk, as well as faster connections to Katowice, Kielce, Tarnów and Warsaw via new corridors such as the Małopolsko‑Świętokrzyska corridor. The multi‑year plan is intended to increase rail capacity and regional connectivity, though detailed design work and financing must be secured before construction can begin.
