Polish Life Defense Federation opposes surrogacy promotion

The Polish Federation of the Life Defense Movement has issued a formal opposition to the promotion of surrogacy in Poland. This stance follows an announcement regarding a meeting in Warsaw organized by the Ukrainian clinic BioTexCom, which offers paid surrogacy programs and targets Polish clients.

The Federation argues that commercial surrogacy treats women as reproductive tools and children as objects of legal contracts. They expressed concerns regarding the potential for Polish infertility clinics to participate in foreign surrogacy programs, particularly whether medical procedures such as egg retrieval or embryo transfer might be conducted within Poland under the cover of the ongoing war in Ukraine.

A formal inquiry has been directed to the Polish Minister of Health to clarify whether the state can identify and control such cases and if current regulations are sufficient to prevent the unregulated expansion of surrogacy practices in the country.
