Polish man arrested for death threats against Donald Tusk
A 52-year-old resident of Oława, Poland, has been detained following the publication of death threats against Prime Minister Donald Tusk on Facebook. The threats were discovered in August by officers from the State Protection Service (SOP).
Following a formal request for prosecution signed by Prime Minister Tusk, police from the Wrocław Provincial Police Headquarters conducted an investigation to identify the author. The suspect was apprehended at his residence on September 7. According to police spokesperson Wojciech Jabłoński, the individual was unable to provide a rational explanation for his actions.
The suspect has been charged with issuing criminal threats and faces a potential sentence of up to three years in prison. Authorities are currently analyzing the gathered evidence.
