Polish Media Regulator KRRiT Returns Nearly 2 Million Zł to Three Public Radio Operators
The National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) approved the transfer of almost 2 million Polish zlotys from the court‑deposit account of the Finance Ministry to three regional public radio companies: Polskie Radio Pomorze i Kujawy (≈ 657 000 zł), Radio Łódź (≈ 642 000 zł) and Radio Olsztyn (≈ 632 000 zł). The funds represent the portion of the public broadcasting levy (abonament) that had been held in deposit.
During the same session KRRiT evaluated the 2025 public‑media reports, accepting the statements of 15 broadcasters while refusing those of four entities (Polish Television, Polskie Radio, Radio Łódź and Radio Zachód) for deviating from the council’s recommendations. The council also granted a concession to TBN Media for the TBN Polska TV channel and approved an extension request from ON/OFF PRODUKCJA TV.
“Blisko 2 mln zł z wpływów z abonamentu trafi do trzech spółek mediów publicznych” – KRRiT’s statement emphasized the allocation as part of its ongoing support for public‑service media.
