Poland caps fuel prices for June 2‑3, diesel up to 6.40 zł per litre
The Ministry of Energy announced new maximum retail fuel prices effective on 2 June 2026, with gasoline 95 capped at 5.95 zł per litre, gasoline 98 at 6.54 zł, and diesel at 6.26 zł. A follow‑up notice set the diesel cap at 6.40 zł for 3 June, while gasoline prices remained unchanged.
The caps are part of the "Ceny Paliwa Niżej" package, which lowers VAT on fuel from 23 % to 8 % and reduces excise duties to the EU minimum. Prices are calculated from the domestic wholesale average plus excise, fuel fee, a 0.30 zł margin and VAT. Violations can attract fines of up to 1 million zł, enforced by the National Revenue Administration. The regulations stay in force until 15 June.
