Polish municipal delegations deepen ties with German and Hungarian partners

A delegation from the Polish gmina Przelewice visited Schönbeck, Germany, on 21 July to reinforce existing relations with the neighbouring German municipality of Woldegk and formally extend the partnership to include Schönbeck. Participants included Wójt Mieczysław Mularczyk and council chairman Marek Kibała, alongside German representatives Dr Ernst‑Jürgen Lode and the deputy mayor of Schönbeck. Discussions focused on cultural, economic and tourism cooperation, and the Polish side toured the historic Rattey palace and a modern winery.

In a separate visit, officials from Gmina Masłów travelled to the Hungarian partner town of Börcs. Led by Wójt Tomasz Lato, the delegation combined a sporting exchange – competing in the Mayor’s Cup football tournament – with study tours of a former atomic‑bunker and a Danube water‑gate. The Masłów team finished third, with player Kamil Mroż named the tournament’s best player. The visit concluded with the exchange of scarves symbolising the long‑standing Polish‑Hungarian friendship.
