Polish municipalities award golden wedding medals to long‑married couples

In the Świętokrzyskie region, municipal officials honored couples celebrating 50 years of marriage. In Nowa Słupia, Marshal Renata Janik and mayor Andrzej Gąsior presented medals to 13 local couples during a ceremony at the restaurant Świętokrzyski Dwór.

A week later in the Silesian municipality of Nędza, a ceremony at Aqua Brax in Szymocice saw 14 couples receive golden‑wedding medals from wójt Leszek Pietrasz, vice‑voivode Michał Kopański and other officials. The event also recognised a 60‑year marriage (Irena and Zygbert Kalembowie) and a 65‑year marriage (Krystyna and Konrad Kalusowie). Medals and diplomas were handed out, and officials visited recipients unable to attend.

Both ceremonies highlighted the enduring values of love, respect and dedication, presenting the medals as awards granted by the President of Poland for long‑term marital life.
