Gdynia announces participatory budget results amid low turnout
The results of the 13th edition of the Gdynia Participatory Budget have been announced. Residents selected 81 district projects and 3 city-wide projects for implementation.
Despite the selection, officials noted a disappointing decline in voter turnout, which stood at just over 8 percent, with 17,500 people participating. Vice President Tomasz Augustyniak attributed this trend to the widespread familiarity of the concept, previous implementation challenges, and corrected procedural errors. The Chwarzno-Wiczlino district recorded the highest engagement, with a turnout exceeding 15 percent and selecting seven projects, including a major pedestrian-bicycle path.
